Why storage and conditioning cabinets?

On small, simple production systems, transferring printed film directly from the printer to the press is practical; the film is often laid on heat mats before use. As production systems increase in size, capacity and complexity, this task becomes more difficult to control. This is especially true when using continuous process machines.

Our film storage and conditioning cabinets store large areas of film in a compact, protected environment. This allows the user to control the properties of the film between printing and pressing. It also decreases waste.

Printing ideally requires a temperature and humidity controlled room. Pressing does not have the same needs. Moving printed film to the pressing areas in the cabinets until needed can save heating and air conditioning costs in production areas.

The cabinets allow separation of the logistics of printing from pressing, and allow storage of the printed film in ideal conditions.

Recommended use of storage and conditioning cabinets

Ideally used in sets of 3: -

  • 1 being filled,
  • 1 with the film being loaded into the press
  • 1 full of ready prints.

Using the cabinets in this way will ensure continuity of production.
